New royalty crowned for Relay For Life

Haley Bunch was crowned Miss Relay for Life Queen at the Second Little Miss Relay for Life Pageant on Saturday in Franklin High School. The event is a fundraiser for the Relay For Life program, which helps to support the work of the American Cancer Society. The pageant was started by Madelyn Cosby of Southampton Middle School.

Her mother, Kasey Cosby, said the event raised $4,306 toward the ACS.

There were several special guests at the occasion: 2018 Miss Virginia Teen USA Himanvi Panidepu; Hester Fletcher of Final Touch Consulting; Heather Berland, a national pageant judge; as well as 2018 Miss Tysons Ashley Brooke Fisher.

The Shooting Star Award was given to Haley Yeary, who raised $770 for the Dream Chasers Relay for Life Team. She received a Kindle Fire and a 7.5-inch custom tiara.

Community Service Award winner was Rachel Blythe.
