COURTLAND — Linard Thomas Francis Jr., 68, passed away on Feb. 26, 2018, in his home.

Thomas had retired from Southampton Correctional Center, and was the owner of Indian Town Shooting Preserve.
He attended Ferrum College, and was a former Virginia National Guardsman.
He was brought up in the Capron United Methodist Church.
He was predeceased by his father, Linard Thomas Francis Sr.
Thomas is survived by his two sons, Matthew Thomas Francis (Carla) and Linard Brice Francis; mother, Ethel Pope “Dick” Francis; sister, Donna Francis Slagle; four grandchildren, Matthew Thomas Francis II, Kaya McKenzie Francis, Mallory Elizabeth Francis and Dalton Thomas Brice Francis.
The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, in the Capron Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in Matt and Carla’s home at 22715 Main St., Courtland, and suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Indian Town Hunt Club, c/o Jim Pope, 22091 Angelico Road, Capron, VA 23829.
