FRANKLIN
The Rock Church Lions basketball team continue their winning ways by beating Albermarle Academy from Elizabeth City, North Carolina on Jan. 31. It was a defensive game as the Lions held their opponents to only 26 points, while chipping in 37 points for the win. The Lions were led by point guard D.J. Dillon, who scored 29 points, with six rebounds and five steals.

Christian Fanjul was the second in scoring with 6 points and he pulled down 15 rebounds. Albermarle Academy was led by Trent Sawyer who had 8 points along with 8 rebounds.

“It was a very impressive win by the boys today,” Coach Danny Dillon said. “Albemarle Academy is 10 times bigger than our school, so taking them down was sweet. The bottom line is that our boys are getting better, and showing the love of God out there on the floor. I look forward to the future of this program.”
