Another haven for little angels

COURTLAND
What place could be more appropriate to set up a new preschool than within the protective walls of a church? That’s worked quite well for Grace’s Little Angels Preschool, which has been within Grace Memorial United Methodist Church in Sedley these past 10 years. So, when it came time to seek another venue, the answer was found a short while ago at High Street United Methodist Church in Courtland.

Once the decision was made and the logistics worked out, space was made. All is in compliance with state health standards for daycare.

Several rooms are set aside for different levels, with toys and other learning tools appropriate for their ages. Woven throughout the site is a brightly colored mural featuring scenes of childhood that could make adults wish they could stay and play.

Already 55 infants and toddlers have found the site to be a nurturing environment where they can learn, play, laugh and maybe even shed a few tears. But there are loving and soothing adults who care deeply about their young wards to dry those eyes and put smiles back on their faces.

They are overseen by site directors Carol Harrington and Abigal Taylor. Raegan Pittman is the director, and has a bachelor’s in human development and a master’s in early childhood education.

The site in Courtland is open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
