RICHMOND — Ernest M. Carpenter, 79, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Jan. 21, 2018.

He is survived by three daughters, Barbara C. Donovan of Amelia, Virginia; Brenda C. Joyner of Capron, Virginia; and Beverly G. Carpenter of Richmond; six grandchildren, Lisa Downey, Rafael Malpica, Roland Joyner Jr., Jeannette Malpica, Dillon Joyner and Dicey Coleman; three siblings; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many other loving family and friends.

The graveside ceremony will be at noon on Friday, Jan. 26, in Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newbys Bridge Road Chesterfield, Virginia.
