NEWSOMS — Robert “Bobby” Franklin Steele Jr., 61, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away surrounded by his family at home on Jan. 6, 2018.

Bobby was born in Charleston, West Virginia, a son of the late Robert Franklin Steele Sr. and Delores Faye Deel Steele.

He was a retired iron worker with the Surry Nuclear Power Plant.

Bobby was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Pamella Lynn Davis Steele; two sons, Robert Franklin Steele III (Marsha) of Franklin and Justin Brooks Steele (Shannon) of Hampton; two sisters, Debbie Preder of Newport News and Michelle Stevens of Gloucester; brother, Blair Dewitt Steele of Matthews County; three grandchildren, Hannah Belle Steele, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Steele and Savannah Steele.

Bobby was predeceased by a sister, Deena Steele Murry; and two brothers, Jeffrey Brooks Steele and Andrew Jonathan Scott Steele.

The celebration of life service will be on Saturday, Jan. 13, from noon to 4 p.m., in the Capron Ruritan Building, 23035 Main St., Capron.

Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, is assisting the family.
