Southampton, Isle of Wight, Franklin schools remain closed

Franklin, Southampton and Isle of Wight public schools have announced that they will remain closed on Tuesday.
Dr. Gwendolyn Shannon, superintendent of Southampton County Public Schools, stated via text that the secondary roads are still icy.
Lynn Briggs, spokeswoman for the Isle of Wight County Public Schools, added that all 12-month employees must show up on time tomorrow. Kelvin Edwards, deputy superintendent of Franklin City Public Schools, confirmed on Monday afternoon that city schools also remain closed.
Southampton Academy will resume classes on Tuesday.
No word yet on Isle of Wight Academy, but that will be posted as soon as the information becomes available.
