Country music fans take note.

Franklin-Southampton Concert Association President Nancy Rowe has announced the organization will present country singer Ty Herndon on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 7:30 p.m. The show will be in the auditorium at Southampton High School in Courtland.

“Due to interest in this concert,” said Rowe. “We have decided to sell some tickets ahead of the show. The cost will be $30 for adults and $10. for students.

“If you are interested, please send a check with your order to: Concert Association P.O. Box 3, Courtland, VA 23837, include your name, address and phone number and we will send you the tickets.”

Ty Herndon knew he wanted to be a singer from age 6. His talent was recognized when he was the winner on the TV show “Star Search.” In the late 1990’s he released his debut album and his first single “What Matters Most” quickly jumped to number 1.

In 1995 he was named the Best New Artist at the Country Music Awards. He was out of the music scene for several years, but is now back and at his best.
