FRANKLIN
The Franklin Walmart on Armory Drive was evacuated on Monday afternoon after store management received a bomb threat. Franklin city police, fire and rescue were called at approximately 1:51 p.m., according to spokesman Capt. Tim Whitt.

As of 3 p.m. the scene was still active and employees continued to wait in the parking lot.

A Coast Guard explosive detection K-9 unit arrived later that afternoon and swept the building, but no explosive devices were found. Police issued the all clear at approximately 4:25 p.m.

Store managers could not provide any additional details. Whitt said that police are still working to identify who made the threat.

Employees returned to work once the all clear was given.
