To the Editor:

The newly revised Downtown Franklin Guide to Shops, Services & Parking is now available in our community. Created by the Economic Vitality Committee of the Downtown Franklin Association, the brochure lists restaurants, services and retailers located on and around Main Street.

A color-coded map includes points of interest, public parking and green space and parks. Downtown events, sponsored by the DFA, are listed for the entire year.

“We’re always looking for ways to promote and support all of our downtown businesses,” stated Dan Howe, DFA’s executive director. “Distribution of this brochure to locations throughout the city, including the airport, hotels, businesses, stores and restaurants, will reach both residents and visitors with the information needed to do just that.”

Anyone wishing to obtain brochures can call the DFA office at 562-6900.

The DFA, as part of the Main Street Program, utilizes the “Four-Point Approach” to revitalization, which includes Organization, Promotion, Design and Economic Vitality. The EV Committee is chaired by Juanita Richards of Richwood Graphics. Members include Beneta Cofield of Cofield’s Locksmith, Ashley Cotton of the Franklin Business Center, Roberta Bowman of Floor to Ceiling, Gayle Schmitz of Franklin Art and Frameworks and Bobby Tyler of R.W. Tyler & Associates.

Community volunteers are welcomed and needed in all facets of the Downtown Franklin Association’s activities.

Call or stop by the Visitor Center/DFA office on Main Street to find out where you can help to support and improve our Downtown.
