John H. Lee III

RANKLIN —John Henry Lee III, 87, passed away on Nov. 26, 2017, in his home.
Mr. Lee was a native of Richmond, and was a son of the late John Henry Lee Jr. and Margaret Talley Lee Dunn, and was also predeceased by a brother, Phillip Lee.
He was a graduate of John Marshall High School in Richmond where he was a cadet. He had retired after 35 years of service from Gulf Oil Company (1948-1983), and was a sales manager for S.W. Rawls Inc. in Franklin from 1983 until his retirement in 1995.
He was a former member of the Hunterdale Ruritan Club, the Roanoke Tar River Hunt Club, Gulf Oil Retirement Club and a former volunteer at Southampton Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 70 years, Marjorie Allen Lee; one daughter, Sandra Lee Cobb and her husband, Eric, of Gibsonville, North Carolina; one son, John Allen Lee and his wife, Adrian, of Franklin; one grandson, Taylor Allen Lee and his wife, Cayleigh, and one great-granddaughter, Mara Lee, all of Maine.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29, in the Franklin Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Gibson and the Rev. Dr. Charles Qualls officiating. The burial will be at Maury Cemetery in Richmond.
