East Pavilion employee charged with assaulting supervisor

FRANKLIN
An East Pavilion nursing home employee’s dispute with her supervisor became physical Tuesday afternoon, according to Capt. Whitt, spokesman for the Franklin Police Department. Officers were called to the scene at approximately 12:29 p.m. in reference to an assault in progress.

Upon arrival, officers learned that an employee, Tynisia Nicole Newsome, 26, of Chesapeake, had been meeting with her supervisor. Newsome allegedly became upset during the meeting and began assaulting the supervisor.

The victim was transported to Southampton Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Officers arrested Newsome and charged her with assault and battery. Newsome was later released on a personal recognizance bond.
