FRANKLIN — Russell Darden Cotton, 60, passed away on Nov. 18, 2017.

Russ was born in Norfolk, and was a son of the late Russell B. and Dorothy Darden Cotton.

He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church, and a 1976 graduate of Southampton Academy.

Russell was a supervisor for Sandy Land Peanut Company, and a member of Forks of the River Hunt Club.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife. Judy Bailey Cotton; daughter, Ashley Jean Cotton; son, William Russell “Will” Cotton; sister, Patsy C. Falls; a niece, Patricia Falls Davis and husband, Ben; a nephew, Douglas Falls and wife, Stephanie; two stepchildren, April Renee Griffin and T.J. Griffin and wife, Debra; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, in Poplar Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. M. Reginald Warren officiating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, and suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
