FRANKLIN
A suspect was arrested in connection with shootings into occupied dwellings in the early morning hours of Thursday. Deonta Javon Faulk was charged with firing a weapon within city limits and shooting across a roadway.

Capt. Tim Whitt, spokesman for the Franklin Police Department, said that officers responded to a 2:17 a.m. call of gun shots in the 400 block of Clay Street, but no one was found in the area. At 3:15 a.m., police got several calls about gun shots, this time in the 500 block of North High Street.

Police found a resident at 515 N. High St., and learned the house had been hit five times by gunfire. Several 9mm cartridge casings were recovered from across the street. The officers also learned during their investigation that another resident had fired a shotgun outside. Searching inside, they found a Remington 12-gauge shotgun. That’s where Faulk, 21, comes into the picture.

He was released on a 1,000 unsecured bond. Additional charges are pending.

Anyone who has information on who shot into the High Street residence is asked to call the Franklin Police Department at 562-8575 or Franklin Crime Solvers at 562-8599.

Information that leads to an arrest can earn the caller a cash reward while remaining anonymous.
