DREWRYVILLE — Raymond L. “Pop” Whitby, 85, passed away at his home on Nov. 9, 2017.
Raymond was a founding member of the Drewryville Volunteer Fire Department and the Applewhite Swamp Hunt Club.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Shelby Edwards Whitby; daughter, Norma Jean Gibson; son, Dennis R. Whitby; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ned Willis Whitby.
The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, in Greensville Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. David Everett officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggests memorials be made to the Drewryville Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 125, Drewryville, VA 23844.
