WINDSOR — Mary Ann Robinson Moore, 78, passed away in Waverly, Virginia, on Nov. 9, 2017.
No more worry, no more sorrow, no more pain.
Mary Ann was a devoted wife who faithfully fulfilled her wedding vows made on Nov. 2, 1963, by loving and caring for her husband, Johnny, right up until two hours before suffering a stroke on Oct. 26.
Mary Ann retired as clerk of the Community Electric Cooperative, Windsor, Virginia, following her battle with stages three and four ovarian cancer, of which she was pleased to let you know she was a 21-year survivor.
She was a sports enthusiast, specifically a devoted Washington Redskins and Washington Nationals fan, and loved the outdoors.
One of the things that brought her great joy in recent years was gathering with cousins, aunts and uncles at the Virginia Diner in Wakefield.
Mary Ann was a lifetime member of Windsor Congregational Christian Church, where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and followed in believer’s baptism.
She was a former member of the Homemaker’s Club and gifted in the art of sewing and decorating for the Christmas season. Some Christmas decorations are already in place in her home.
Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Harrison Edward Robinson and Olivia Ann Roberts Robinson. She is survived by her husband, John Wallace Moore Jr.,; a brother, John Edward Robinson and his wife, Shirley; a brother-in-law, William “Billy” Moore and wife, Peggy; two nieces; one nephew; Aunt Mary Frances Rhodes; and cousins.
The gathering of family and friends will take place in the Fellowship Hall of Windsor Congregational Christian Church, Windsor, beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12, followed by a graveside service at 3 p.m. in Windsor Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Windsor Congregational Church Building Fund at P.O. Box 407 Windsor, VA 23487.
