To the Editor:

I would like to put out some information that I don’t think a lot of people in Franklin are aware of.

Recently I had a reason to dispose of an old flag. I know of a program where funeral homes take old flags and incorporate them in funerals for veterans and their families in a very respectful way.

I am from Williamsburg and have recently moved to this area. I was not sure about the participation in this program here in Franklin.

I called Wright Funeral Home and was very pleased to discover that they do participate in this program.

I apologize that I don’t know the name of the program, but it is designed to have part of the symbol the veteran lived by to be part of his funeral service. No matter how damaged the flag might be, it can be used in your veteran’s funeral service.

If you have an old flag that needs to be disposed of, please consider this program. Have a blessed day!
