Alice Louise Conaway

COURTLAND — Mrs. Alice Louise Conaway of Jerusalem Plank Road departed this life to claim her eternal rest and peace on Nov. 1, 2017, while resting peacefully in her home.

She was born in Chesterfield County, Virginia, on May 8, 1932, to Edward W. Mason and Mary Brassfield.
Louise attended the public schools of Southampton County.
She was a member of Mount Moriah U.C.C., where she served as a member on two choirs, The Senior Choir and The Combined Choir. Louise was a Certified Nursing Assistant for more than 20 years.
Early in life, she married her first husband, Harry Conaway, and they remained as husband and wife until his demise. Later, she married Willie Joe Ricks until he passed away.
Her memory will be celebrated by her daughters, Elizabeth Thomas, Carrie Parker (James) and Juanita C. Brown; sons, Harry Conaway (Ruby), Raymond Conaway (Lisa), Morris Conaway and Kenneth Conaway (Rebecca); five sisters; one brother; 26 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins; and many caring friends.
The celebration of life will be at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 7, in Mount Moriah U.C.C., 12499 Old Forty Road, Waverly, with the pastor, Rev. Shelton Smith, delivering the message of comfort. The committal and benediction will be in the church cemetery.
