Edna R. Joyner

SPARTANBURG, S.C.— Edna Robertson Joyner, 84, widow of Shady Lee “Buck” Joyner Jr.,, passed away on Oct. 1, 2017, at Summit Hills.

Edna was born in Colerain, North Carolina, and was a graduate of Ahoskie High School, Ahoskie, North Carolina.

She was predeceased by her parents, David Hiliary Robertson and Amanda Evelyn Powell Robertson, and a son, Brian Joyner.

Mrs. Joyner was a member of Franklin Baptist Church, Franklin, Virginia, and Second Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg, South Carolina.

She had been a former co-owner of Phillips and Company Restaurant in Franklin.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Clair J. Evers of Pensacola, Florida, and Elaine J. Pruitt and her husband, Paul, of Spartanburg; two grandchildren, Amanda E. Flesher and Ashley R. Evers; and one brother, Carlton Robertson and his wife, Connie, of Edenton, North Carolina.

The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, with the Rev. Steven Rhodes officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside, and suggest that memorial donations be made to any Shriners Hospitals for Children or your local Humane Society.
