A Franklin man is in custody without bond after being arrested for recklessly handling and firing a gun on Saturday. This information comes from Capt. Tim Whitt, spokesman for the Franklin Police Department.
Reportedly, a domestic situation began and escalated between Davonta Traion Boone and the mother of his children when she came to pick them up. Boone allegedly made threats to assault the female and followed her outside.
While getting into her car, she noticed that Boone had a pistol in his hand. He then allegedly fired a shot into the air. The female then left the area and notified police. They responded at 9:52 p.m. and had obtained arrest warrants for him, and he was taken into custody at his residence on 101 Langston Court.
Boone was charged with reckless handling of a firearm, discharge a firearm within city limits, brandishing a firearm and domestic assault. He was remanded to Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.
