Arrests made in robbery case

FRANKLIN
Continued investigation into the robbery of an employee of the Park-N-Shop at 700 South St., on April 24, has led to the arrest of two more suspects, both of Franklin. This information comes from Capt. Tim Whitt, spokesman for the Franklin Police Department.

On that date, officers responded to the Park-N-Shop for a robbery in progress, suspects had accosted an employee outside the store, assaulting him and stealing a deposit bag containing cash. The store employee was able to detain one of the suspects until police arrived, but the other two fled. Officers arrested Tyree Holland, 24, of Darden Street, Franklin, at the scene.

The detective assigned the case continued to work and build evidence, which led to him obtaining warrants for Dario Ma’Kieth Winborne and Shemika Ferguson. Both were arrested by Suffolk Police on Sept. 8, and are being held in Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.

Winborne, 27, of Charles Street, was charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and wearing a mask in public.

Shemika Ferguson, 26, also of Charles Street, was charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
