FRANKLIN — Mae Bettie Urquhart Cross, 79, of Virginia Street, died on Aug. 27, 2017, in MCV, Richmond, Virginia.

She is survived by a daughter, Debbie V. Cross; a son, Eric “Peanut” Cross; three children; one great-grandchild; one sister; and two nieces.

Her church service as a youth leader, Vacation Bible School teacher, food handler, Sunday School teacher, deaconess influenced her career as a cook, factory worker and nurse assistant.

The funeral will be on Friday, Sept. 1, at 11 a.m., in New Mt. Olive Branch Baptist Church, Gates Road, Suffolk.
