Hampton man shot on Wilson Street

The Franklin Police Department is not currently seeking any suspects in connection with a shooting that occurred at a residence in the 200 block of Wilson Street early Sunday morning.

According to Capt. Tim Whitt, spokesman for the Franklin Police Department, officers responded to the residence at approximately 3:50 a.m. and found a 33-year-old Hampton man with gunshot wounds to both legs. The victim, whom officers describe as intoxicated and uncooperative, alleges that he was standing in front of the residence when an unknown person approached and shot him for no reason.

He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment. Police say they are not seeking suspects at this time based on witness statements.
