Rachel Baugham, James Sappenfield exchange vows

The wedding of Rachel Ann Baugham, formerly of Boykins, to James Alexander Sappenfield IV of Hampstead, North Carolina, took place on July 29, 2017, at Bakery 105 in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Rachel is the daughter of Lynn and Penny Baugham, and also the maternal granddaughter of the Rev. Kenneth and Mrs. Shirley Williams of Newsoms, and paternal granddaughter of Gladys Baugham of Boykins and the late John Baugham.

James is the son of James Sappenfield III and Susan Sappenfield of Troutman, North Carolina. His paternal grandparents are Marshall and Ruth Riggins of Norwood, North Carolina; paternal grandparents are Dr. James and Evelyn Sappenfield II of Forest City, North Carolina.

The bride is a 2010 graduate of Southampton Academy, and a 2014 graduate of East Carolina University, where she majored in public health studies. She teaches sixth grade at Topsail Middle School.

The groom is a 2009 graduate of Statesville High School, and a 2013 graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he majored in sports management. He serves as area director for Young Life.

Beth Batchelor was the maid of honor.

Liz Armstrong, Allie Efting, Carly Gaylor, Melissa Kuhns, Dru Lynch, Gracie Lynch, Debbie Sawyer, Carly Shanahan and Kristina Thompson were bridesmaids.

Ellie Grace Garner and Cullen Garner were flower girls.

Lauren Holder, Sarah Ashley Joyner, Macy Powers, Madison Powers, Elizabeth Sawyer and Liza Thorell were attendants.

Jim Sappenfield was his son’s best man.

Josh Cash, Graham Davis, George Foster, Jacob Lail, Lou Ruiz, Tyler Sutton, Jack Andy Toth and Casey Zager were groomsmen.

Josh Brown, Zack Brown, Jake Cardillo, Weston Hurd, Max Hurst, Elijah Jackson and Joshua Jackson were ushers.

Matt Sloan was the officiant.

Scripture readings were given by the Rev. Kenneth Williams, grandfather of the bride.

Dinner and dancing followed the ceremony at Bakery 105.

The rehearsal dinner took place at the Hilton Riverside in Wilmington.

The couple honeymooned in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Jimmy and Rachel now reside in Hampstead.
