COURTLAND — Margaret Baggett Johnson, 91, passed away on Aug. 12, 2017, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late Lee Baggett and Lillian Jones Baggett, and was also predeceased by her husband, D.C. Johnson; sisters, Paige King and Helen Toombs; and brothers, Wilson Baggett, Robert Baggett and George Baggett.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Vincent Grove United Methodist Church, a member of the Sunshine Club of Vincent Grove, and had retired from Shady Side Drive-in.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Diann Davenport and husband, Wib; Pauline Copeland and husband, Lenny; Mae Clarke and friend, George; Louise Ogburn and husband, Donnie; Nona King and husband, John; Jane Burgess and husband, Barry; and Belinda Jones and husband, Kenny; a sister, Iona Whisenant, a brother-in-law, Bob Johnson and wife, Dot; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Julie Larch officiating. Private burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Courtland.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home, and suggests that memorials may be made to Vincent Grove United Methodist Church, c/o Randy Burgess, 23359 Hanging Tree Road, Courtland, VA 23837.
