FRANKLIN — Josephine Mitchell Britt Martin peacefully transitioned home on Aug. 3, 2017, surrounded by her daughter, Toni, and sisters, Mary and Sylvia.

She was the daughter of the late Willie Britt Jr. and Narcissus Harris-Britt Brown, and was also predeceased by siblings, Lavern Seaborne, George Britt, Melvin Britt, Willie Britt III and Doris Britt.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, James Martin; her daughter, Toni Hunt (Vandy); four grandchildren, Shamia, Joseph, DeAndre and Pashawn; one stepson, James Martin Jr. of New York; sisters, Virginia Lawson (Billy) and Ruby Brown of Atlanta, Georgia; Ann Ellison (Willie), Sylvia Britt-Bowers (Anthony) and Mary Britt, all of Franklin, Virginia; Barbara Brennan (Raymond) of Silver Springs, Maryland; Cora Caldwell of New York; stepsisters, Ann Elliott (Lloyd) and Felicia Jones and Debra Brown, all of Franklin; and stepbrothers, William Brown Jr., Wallace Brown (Violet) and Edward Brown, all of Franklin.
She also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great nephews, many cousins and friends, who will also cherish her memory.
There will be a memorial service at Engram Funeral Home, Franklin, on Sunday, Aug. 6, at 2 p.m.
