FRANKLIN
Southampton County Middle School will host a “Stuff the Bus” event today, Aug. 4, and Sunday, Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

According to Susan Fowler, assistant principal, a school bus will be posted in the parking lot in front of the Walmart. Teacher volunteers and a few students are anticipated to help collect whatever people contribute.

“We will take any monetary donations as well,” Fowler said adding that anything contributed would be put to good use. Last year, sports equipment such as footballs or soccer ball were given, which she said was “very helpful for our PE department.” Such items are again welcome.

The following items are requested:

Bookbags 

Calculator (TI-30XA/black one only) 

3-ring binders (I inch to 2 inch)

Pencils (not mechanical)

Notebook paper (College ruled)

Colored pencils     

Glue sticks

1 subject notebooks

Tab dividers

Index cards

Hygiene items

Highlighters

Scissors (middle school)

Blue, black or red pens

Colored copier paper

Erasers

Pocket folder/prongs

Sports equipment –football, soccer, volleyball, frisbees, etc.
