Franklin man charged in burglary

FRANKLIN
Investigation into an early morning burglary last Thursday at 1 has led to the arrest of three suspects. This information comes from Capt. Tim Whitt, spokesman for the Franklin Police Department.

The suspects reportedly burglarized Motor Works at 513 N. Franklin St., stealing a Kawasaki dirt bike and a Honda 4-wheel ATV. Investigating officers recovered both machines, which were returned to the shop. Suspects were identified, which led to the arrest of To’Qawn Ra’Quel Newsome, 18.

Newsome, whose last known address was 451 Bruce St., was charged with two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of grand larceny, one count of conspiracy to commit a felony and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Newsome was remanded to Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.

Charges have also been obtained for the juveniles, ages 15 and 16, who participated in this crime.
