FRANKLIN
Christmas will be here before you know it. Until then, here’s a cooling thought for you: The Candlelight Christmas Tour has been scheduled, and will feature six homes in Franklin on Sunday, Dec. 10, from 4 to 8:30 p.m.

Patti Rabil, tour chairwoman, said the following people will participate: Betsy Brantley, Chuck Gatten and Ray and Linda Smith, all on Meadow Lane; Dr. Aurelius Brantley on Clay Street; Bob and Beth Luck at The Village at Woods Edge; and David and Patti Rabil on Crescent Drive.

Tickets cost $20 in advance and $25 the day of the tour.

This event is being presented by the Franklin Garden Club, which is a member of the Garden Club of Virginia.

“Profits from ticket sales will sponsor garden club projects throughout our community, such as the spring garden tour in 2019, the wreath-making workshops, door decorations and conservation,” Rabil said. She added that part of the money also goes to Richmond for preservation and conservation of historic homes and gardens as well as state parks throughout Virginia.

The Village will provide refreshments, which includes a complimentary glass of wine with each ticket.

Tickets will become available at a variety of local community merchants and the Franklin-Southampton Chamber of Commerce.
