CHRISTIANSBURG — James Herbert “Jimmy” Holland Sr., 82, passed away July 1, 2017, at his home.

A former resident of Windsor, Mr. Holland was born in Isle of Wight County a son of the late Herbert Wilton and Bessie Mae Pierce Holland.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Barbara S. Holland; three daughters, Debra Holland of Suffolk, Cheryl Willis of Arizona and Patricia Whitley of Suffolk; one son, James H. Holland Jr. of Smithfield; one sister, Ann Felts of Windsor; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The graveside service with military honors will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 21, in the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery on Milner’s Road in Suffolk with the Rev. Robert Cofield officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 20, from 5 to 7 p.m., in Harleys Haven, 15395 Bowling Green Rd., Windsor, and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, (855-448-3997), P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS, 66675-8517.
