Madeline S. Bradshaw

GATES, N.C. — Madeline Smith Bradshaw, 93, passed away on July 4, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Bradshaw was a native of Beaufort County, North Carolina, and was a daughter of the late Irby Dean Smith and Wilfred Pryor Smith. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Rupert, Leonard and Irby Smith; and a sister, Elnora Hedgepeth.

Madeline was retired from Roses Department Store in Franklin, and was a member of South Quay Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, James Murray Bradshaw: two daughters, Jean B. Derby and husband, Hunter, of Gates, North Carolina; and Marie B. Pope and husband, Charles, of Casselberry, Florida; one son, Jim Bradshaw and wife, Jane, of Thousand Oaks, California; one sister, Viola S. Ivey of Suffolk, Virginia; three grandchildren, Robert W. Britt and wife, Debbie; Greg A. Britt and wife, Monica; and Katie M. Bradshaw, three great-grandchildren, Tyler Britt, Braxton Newsome and Terry Lynn Lassiter; and two great-great-grandchildren, Brianna Lassiter and Kristian Lassiter.
The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, in South Quay Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Baird and Pastor Kyle Truman officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church.
