Lois C. Rose

FRANKLIN — Deacon Emeritus Lois C. Rose of Delk Street transitioned from earth to claim her eternal rest and peace on June 30, 2017, while peacefully resting in her home.

She was born in Southampton County, Virginia, to Willie Moore and Gonet Devilla Cooper on June 11, 1927.
Lois became a deacon emeritus after 32 years in the Deacon Ministry of First Baptist Church.
She retired from Southampton Memorial Hospital after 35 years of service.
Lois married John “R.J.” Rose, to this union four children were born. Lois and her husband encouraged each of their children to strive for excellence in their lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Lois leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, the Rev. Dr. Joyce Rose Scott of Virginia Beach, Virginia; three sons, John R. Rose Jr. of Franklin, Virginia, Larry B. Rose (Yvonne) of Courtland, Virginia, and the Rev. H. Keith Rose (Renee) of Franklin; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Ernestine Pope, Carolyn Richardson and Charlotte Cooper; two brothers-in-law, William Rose and Yosif Roane; and nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and associates.
On the day of the service, her remains will rest in church for viewing by 10 a.m.
The service celebrating her transition will be at noon on Saturday, July 8, in First Baptist Church, 318 Hall St., Franklin, with the pastor, the Rev. D. Shawrod Riddick II, delivering the message of comfort. The committal and benediction will be in Southview Cemetery.
A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Inc., 224 S. Main St.
