Traffic stop leads to narcotics arrest

FRANKLIN
A traffic stop has led to the arrest of a Southampton County man for a narcotics violation.

This information comes from Capt. Tim Whitt, spokesman for the Franklin Police Department.

Daryl Regis Boone, 42, of Pretlow Road, was stopped for a traffic violation at the 1600 block of Armory Drive in Franklin on June 15, at approximately 8:40 p.m. A narcotics detection K-9 alerted on the vehicle and a subsequent search revealed a quantity of cocaine inside, along with a substantial amount of cash.

The drugs and cash were both seized and Boone was arrested for possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute – third or subsequent offense. He has been remanded to the Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.
