To the Editor:
Franklin High School held graduation ceremonies last Friday evening for 73 graduates. One thousand family, friends and faculty attended to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of the Class of 2017. The entire ceremony was conducted in a dignified manner fitting the occasion.
The scholarship offers received by members of this class were truly remarkable. The top two awards were $266,500 and $152,520. The next three were $149,000, $144,700 and $102,000. Scholarship offers to the Class of 2017 totaled over $1.5 million.
Obviously, students deserve much of the credit for their hard work studying, taking numerous tests and assessments, and applying for these scholarships. It is also the result of dedicated teachers and guidance counselors who know their students’ strengths and weaknesses and are able to channel students in the directions that will contribute the most to their success.
Congratulations to all for a job well done!
