GREEN BAY, Wis. — Lorraine Agnes Johnson Woulf, 94, formerly of Peshtigo, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Allouez Sunrise Village in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Born on Sept. 1, 1922, a daughter of the late William and Agnes (McDonald) Johnson, she grew up in Green Bay until the age of seven and attended St. Peter & Paul School until her family moved to Pound to own and operate the family shoe store.
After graduating valedictorian of her class from Coleman High School, she worked as a riveter in Milwaukee during WWII, sending money home to her family.
In 1945, she lived in Marinette and worked as a dental assistant in Menominee, Michigan.
Lorraine married her high school sweetheart, Leslie J. Woulf, on May 10, 1947, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Pound, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2010.
Lorraine was a loving mother to her three children, Kathy, Bob and Jackie. She had a good sense of humor, a warm heart and always made the holidays and birthdays special by cooking and baking everyone’s favorite things. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling and socializing with friends and neighbors.
A lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, she served on the Altar Rosary Society, and was secretary for Les at his in-home American Family Insurance business.
Lorraine is survived by, a son, Bob (Linda) Woulf of Franklin, Virginia; two daughters, Kathy (Jim) Durow of Naperville, Illinois; and Jackie Doperalski of Green Bay; her grandchildren, Jessica Hoffler, Jennifer (Scott) Siebert, Andy and Sara (Elliot) Heath; and a great-grandchild, Leah Hoffler.
Along with her parents and her husband, Leslie, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Jo Johnson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carole and Donald Woulf, Donna and Glen Fournier; and a son-in-law, Dave Doperalski.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday June 13, in St. Mary Catholic Parish Peshtigo, 171 S. Wood Ave., from 9 a.m. until the Mass at 11 a.m. Father Jess Berdol will be officiating. Burial will take place at the Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo.
Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home is assisting the family.
