Voting in primary no less important

We can’t recall the last time that readers were this enthusiastic about an election, not even for president. For the past few months, the paper has received dozens and dozens of letters endorsing the candidate they think would make the best representative for the 64th District. This seat is being vacated by Del. Rick Morris, who announced earlier this year that he won’t seek a third term, and instead will focus on his family.

One thing we noticed about the letters is that the majority were largely free of nasty attacks on the opponents, which has certainly been refreshing. Even the five candidates with whom we spoke didn’t stoop in the attempt to conquer.

If you qualify to vote in this Tuesday’s primary, we strongly urge you to get to the polls and make the choice known for who will be your party’s chosen candidate, whether it’s for the 64th District or even the gubernatorial primary as well as the race for lieutenant governor.

Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Don’t forget your photo ID when you arrive to vote.
