PUBLIC NOTICE

 

Proposed Microwave Tower in Southampton County Dominion Energy Virginia intends to construct and operate a communications tower at the existing Boykins Substation in Southampton County, Virginia. The project site is at 31017 Meherrin Road, Boykins, VA, 23827 approximately 1 mile north of Boykins. The latitude and longitude of the proposed tower are 36°36’01.42” north and 77°11’35.52” west. The project consists of a 190-foot self-supporting lattice microwave that will have a 5-foot lightning rod, increasing the total height to 195 feet. The proposed tower compound will include the tower, a 12-foot by 13-foot equipment shelter, gravel yard, a new gravel entrance road adjacent to an existing gravel yard, a generator, a 1,000-gallon propane tank, associated fuel lines, utility lines, and security fence.
