What’s in YOUR water? Did you know that private water supplies like wells and springs are unregulated? It is the responsibility of the homeowner to regularly test water quality, maintain the water system, and address any problems. Affordable, confidential water testing and education will be offered through Virginia Cooperative Extension offices in Isle of Wight County.
Pick up your kits on Monday, June 19, at 6 p.m., in the Isle of Wight Extension office, and plan to drop off your samples on Wednesday, June 21, from 7:30 to 9 a.m., in the Isle of Wight Extension office, 17100 Monument Circle, Isle of Wight.
Participation is voluntary and confidential. Water samples collected by participating homeowners will be analyzed for 14 parameters:

• Coliform bacteria
• E coli bacteria
• Arsenic
• Copper
• Fluoride
• Iron
• Lead
• Manganese
• Nitrate
• Sodium
• Sulfate
• pH
• Total dissolved solids
The cost is $55. Results and water system care and maintenance information will be shared at an information meeting.
All information is kept strictly confidential and results are reported only to the homeowner.
