SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY Planning Commission Notice of Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended that the Southampton County Planning Commission will hold public hearings on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the Southampton County Office Center at 26022 Administration Center Drive in Courtland, Virginia to consider the following:

 

1. CPA 2017:01 – Application by Willie Whitehead, owner, for an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan from Agriculture/Forest/Open Space/Rural Residential to Industrial for Tax Parcels 117-41 and 117-42. The property is located at 32220 Riverdale Drive and 34296 Smiths Ferry Road, Franklin, VA 23851. The property contains 2.5 acres +/-, and is located in the Newsoms Voting and Magisterial Districts.

2. RZA 2017:02 – Application by Willie Whitehead, owner, for a zoning map amendment from A-1, Agricultural, to CM-1, Conditional Limited Industrial, for Tax Parcels 117-41 and 117-42 to permit the development of a facility for the repair, storage, and sales of passenger vehicles, per Sec. 18-282(a)(6) of the Southampton County Code. The property is located at 32220 Riverdale Drive and 34296 Smiths Ferry Road, Franklin, VA 23851. The property contains 2.5 acres +/-, and is located in the Newsoms Voting and Magisterial Districts.

3. An ordinance to amend the Southampton County Code by repealing Sections 18-107 through 18-112 as adopted by ordinance on January 23, 2017, and further, by adding Chapter 2.6, Agricultural and Forestal Districts.

 

Documents are available in the Franklin Southampton Community Development office in Franklin City Hall and the Southampton County Administration office in Courtland.

 

Any persons desiring to speak in favor of or opposition to the above referenced application(s) are encouraged to appear and be heard at the aforementioned time and place. Any persons wishing to attend this hearing who may require auxiliary aids should contact Michael W.
