Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, May 18, 2017, to consider the adoption of Section 15-6.2, Assessment of new buildings substantially completed, etc. The purpose of the ordinance is to comply with Section 58.1-3292 of the Code of Virginia (1950, as amended) and to allow the Commissioner of the Revenue to assess new construction upon completion of the building, rather than assessing a percentage of the value on the assessment day. The public meeting will commence at 6 p.m. A copy of the proposed ordinance is on file in the Office of the County Attorney, Isle of Wight County Courthouse, Isle of Wight, Virginia 23397, and is available for public examination. Any person desiring to be heard in favor of, in opposition to, or to express his views with respect to, the proposed lease may appear before, and be heard by, the Board during the Public Hearing in the Robert C. Claud, Sr. Board Room, Isle of Wight County Courthouse, Isle of Wight, Virginia.
