WAKEFIELD — Percy Mack Britt passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, surrounded by his family.
Born on June 18, 1945, in Southampton County, he was a son of the late Percy Lee Britt and Betty Jane Saunders Britt.
Mack was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
He worked at R.M. Felts Packing Company for 46 years and enjoyed playing and singing music.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Red Britt, Boney Britt, Clifton Britt, Tiney Holt and Helen Fowler.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Alice Faye Britt; son, Percy Mack Britt Jr. (Lisa); daughter, Lesley Barfield (Matt); grandchildren, Alex, Dylan, Zack, Dixie and Evan; a good friend, Robert Swinson; brothers, Thomas Britt (Pat) and John Britt (Dot); sister, Dollie Stanfield (Tom); and his dog, Snuggles.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 19, in R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Wakefield Cemetery.
