BOYKINS — Henry Wayne Reames, 70, passed away May 12, 2017, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

Wayne was a native of Branchville, and was a son of the late Gladys William Reames and Mary Ruth Griffin Reames.
He was a member of Branchville Baptist Church, and had retired from Severn Peanut Company.
He was a former junior fire captain and assistant chief of the Branchville Fire Department, and had served on the Building Committee for the New Branchville Firehouse.
He had been a member of the Boykins Rescue Squad, Meherrin Valley Hunt Club and the New Life Band.
He was community Santa Claus for many years, an avid drummer and truck driver.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Janice Turner Reames; two daughters, Kristie Marie Reames Ward (Chad); and Kelly Ruth Reames Jarratt (Michael); one brother, Bobby Ray Reames (Jean); four grandchildren, Brandon Ward, Cole, Kelsey and Camden Jarratt; and a special family friend, Billy Crisp.
Wayne was predeceased by a brother, William David Reames.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, in Wright Funeral Home, Boykins, with the Rev. Michael Baugham officiating. Burial will follow at Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Branchville Fire Department or Boykins Rescue Squad.
