IVOR — Arleen Leona Adams passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born on Sept. 10, 1943, in Illinois, she was one of nine children of the late Herbert and Mary Verbunt Smith.
Arleen was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend, and will be missed by all who knew her. Arleen never met a stranger; she had a giving spirit and a kind heart.
When she was not spending time with her family, she loved to go watch a movie or crochet with her friends, the SoCo Knitters and Crocheters, at the Walter Cecil Rawls Library in Courtland.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Tammy Malkin and her husband, Jim; Brian Adams; and Terri Adams; grandchildren, Hunter Adams, Ryan Hambright, Kyle Messer, Brittany Messer, Starr Adams and Jayce Adams; a great-grandson, Nolan Miller; and her beloved canine companions, Gabby and Abigail.
It was Arleen’s wishes that all services be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.
The family is being served by R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel where condolences may be posted at www.rwbakerfh.com.
