Franklin City All-Stars shine in Suffolk basketball league

The Franklin City All-Stars easily took out the Dough Boyz 66-39 in a regular season game on Monday in an adult league that is sponsored by the Suffolk Department of Parks & Recreation. The game was played at the Mack Benn Elementary School in Suffolk.

The All-Stars, up 27-15 at the half, saw a surge by the Dough Boyz in the final minutes as they went on a full court attack with much offensive power. Tyshaun Lowe had a big second half in scoring as he dropped in 12 of his total 18 points in the second half.

Other All-Stars in double figures were Joemone Artis with 15 points and Fred Lassiter with 13 points.

The Franklin All-Stars team consists of players from the Franklin community. The majority of the team are players that played in the department’s 2017 basketball league. The team is sponsored by the Franklin Department of Parks & Recreation, and the head coach is Brenon Artis of the department.
