On Saturday afternoon in Smithfield, voters in Western Tidewater have an opportunity to learn more about several candidates who will be on the ballot during June’s primaries.

The Republican Party of the Third Congressional District will be hosting a candidate forum for those Republicans running for Lieutenant Governor, Bryce Reeves, Glenn Davis and Jill Vogel.

The event will be held at Charlie Daniels Racing, 20128 Isle of Wight Industrial Park from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Jim Hoeft of Bearing Drift will moderate the event and the three panelists will be Travis Fain of The Daily Press, Diana McFarland of The Smithfield Times and Tony Clark, publisher of The Tidewater News and Windsor Weekly. The panelists will ask questions of the candidates, and the moderator will interject with questions sent to Bearing Drift via social media.

Admission to the event is free and open to the public, and food and beverages will be available. It should be an outstanding opportunity for voters to learn more about those vying for the republican nomination. We encourage those planning to cast a vote in June to attend.
