Paul D. Camp Community College has announced the top three suggested names for its soon-to-be baseball and softball teams on Friday. Those were: the Hurricanes, the Fighting Lumberjacks and the Fighting Pinecones.

According to Dr. Renee Felts, vice president of institutional advancement and workforce development at the college, the Hurricanes and Pinecones are tied with the Lumberjacks not far behind in total votes. The college received approximately 150 team name submissions since opening the contest to the public in early April.

The public has until Tuesday, May 9, to select the winning name from the three finalists, and the final name will be announced on Wednesday, May 10. People may vote by going to www.pdc.edu/sports/.
