Archie R. Lassiter

QUINTON — Archie Ray Lassiter, 74, passed away peacefully and was welcomed in the arms of Jesus on April 24, 2017.
He was a native of Virginia, born in Richmond and grew up in Boykins, Virginia.
After attending the Newport News Shipyard and the Navy Reserve Program, he returned to Virginia where he took a job in the telephone industry for 32 years with Contel.
Upon his retirement as an engineer, he began operating a home inspection business and was a licensed Realtor.
Archie’s hobbies included carpentry, golf and motorcycle riding. He loved to square dance, which is how he met his wife ,Margie. He enjoyed researching genealogy and planning family reunions. One of his greatest joys was going out to breakfast in many local diners. He made countless friends over breakfast.
Archie is survived by his wife, Margie Lassiter; two daughters, Theresa Lassiter Jennings and husband, Stephen Jennings, and their children Elijah, Grace and Sophia; Sarah Lassiter Duncan and her husband, James Duncan III, and their children, Jacob and Alli; son, Peyton Lassiter and partner, Ricky Thompkins; two brothers, Earl Lassiter and his wife, Shirley, and Wayne Lassiter and his wife, Mary Jane.
The celebration of his life will be on Tuesday, May 2, at 2 p.m., in Boykins Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial gifts be made to Bon Secours Community Hospice House, which was such a blessing to Archie and his family during his final days.
