FRANKLIN
City police are seeking information on how a Franklin man was shot twice last Friday night.

Capt. Timothy Whitt, spokesman, said that officers responded to the emergency room at Southampton Memorial Hospital in regard to a gunshot victim. Upon arrival it was found that Keonte Marquel Flythe, 21, was being treated for two gunshot wounds to his right arm. He said he was driving in the vicinity of Laurel and Chestnut streets when he observed three people standing on the corner. Flythe said he did not hear gunshots, but realized he had been hit and drove himself to the emergency room.

Officers were unable to locate any crime scene at the location indicated by Flythe, and a canvass of the neighborhood revealed that no one heard and gunshots, nor were there any gunshots called in to the police department. He was reportedly less than cooperative with investigating officers.

Flythe was eventually flown to a Hampton Roads trauma center for further treatment, and later released to go home.

If anyone has information about the shooting of Keonte Flythe they are asked to call Franklin Police at 562-8575 or Franklin Crime Solvers at 562-8599.
