To the Editor:

I’d like to take this opportunity to show my support for Rex Alphin in the upcoming primary for the 64th District and the Virginia House of Delegates. Growing up in Windsor, I have known Rex all my life.

Voting for him because he is my friend would be trivial. I will vote for him because he is a man of integrity who truly cares about the people of the rural culture in which we were raised and chose to raise our own children.

Having farmed the land in different areas of the 64th District for 40 years, Rex has had the opportunity to connect with the people in the area in a variety of ways.

His experiences as a farmer have taken him all around the region, giving him the opportunity to know many of its people far and wide. As a businessman in Windsor, he had the opportunity to meet many folks from the surrounding area, and made it a point to be personally invested in the people who chose to do business with him.

Rex has experience serving in local government. Rex has served on the Isle of Wight Planning Commission, where he contributed to Isle of Wight’s plans for growth while preserving our rural culture.

He has most recently served for six years on the Isle of Wight Board of Supervisors, working with others to grow our economy and keep Isle of Wight moving in a forward direction. Like everything he does, Rex has governed with humility and integrity.

I will cast my vote for Rex Alphin in the June primary and urge local voters to do the same.
