The Board of Supervisors of the County of Isle of Wight will conduct a public hearing on the Proposed Operating & Capital Budget and related ordinances for fiscal year 2017-2018, which commences on July 1, 2017 and ends on June 30, 2018.  The public hearing will be held at the Board of Supervisors regularly scheduled public meeting on Thursday, April 20, 2017, which begins at 6:00 p.m. and will be conducted in the Robert C. Claud, Sr. Board Room on the second floor of the Community Development Building located at 17130 Monument Circle, Isle of Wight County, Virginia 23397. Any citizen of the County shall have the right to attend and state his/her views on the Proposed Operating & Capital Budget.

 

Copies of the Proposed Operating and Capital Budget and related ordinances and resolutions are available for public review in the County Administrator’s Office. The Proposed Operating and Capital Budget is also available on the County’s website at http://www.co.isle-of-wight.va.us/.

• An Ordinance approving the County Operating and Capital Budget and Appropriating funds for expenditures contemplated during the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2017 and ending June 30, 2018, and regulating the payment of money out of the County Treasury.

 

• An Ordinance to Impose Tax Rates for Isle of Wight County, Virginia for Fiscal Year July 1, 2017 Through June 30, 2018 at the following rates:

 

County-wide Real Estate Tax Rate                              $  .85 per $100

Machinery and Tools                                                  $4.24 per $100

Boats, Watercraft and Aircraft                         $1.00 per $100

Tangible Personal Property                                         $4.50 per $100

Watercraft (Vessels and Ships 5 Tons or More)         $  .32 per $100

Utility Companies and Suppliers                                 ½ of 1% of gross receipts

Personal Property Tax Relief                                      48% for vehicles over $1,000 for first $20,000, 100% for vehicles under $1,000
